Bernard Pierce, 69, of Monongah, passed away Saturday (Nov. 10, 2012) at his home.
He was born July 7, 1943, the son of the late Howard and Mable Falls Pierce. He is survived by his wife, Carol Parrish Pierce, whom he married Jan. 10, 1963.
He is survived by two sons, Bernard Pierce and his wife Melissa of Morgantown, and Leo Pierce and his wife Danielle of Carolina; two daughters, Mrs. Rosalie Larimore of Fairmont, and Mrs. Vicki Chrislip of Fairmont; six grandchildren, Rachel Huffman and Justin Hardesty, Rickie Huffman, Jenna and Riley Pierce, Logan Pierce and Jacob Larimore; and great-grandchildren, Cannon Radcliff and Adaleigh Hardesty. Also surviving are two brothers, James and his wife Betty of Monongah, and Cleveland and his wife Lena of Florida; and three sisters, Oran and Tina Thompson of Fairmont, Rosalie Chilli of Indiana and Beulah Brown of Parsons. Also surviving are former sons-in-law, Tom Larimore and Richard Huffman.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mable “Holly” Huffman; two brothers, Leo and Thomas Pierce; and stepfather, Russell Blare.
He was a Methodist by faith.
He donated his body to the Human Registry at West Virginia University.
Carol would like to thank Amedisys Hospice angels Miranda, Jennifer, Shelly and Stephanie for their care and concern, the EMS workers and Dr. Menez and Dr. Tingler and their staff. A special thank you to family, friends and neighbors. God bless each one.
At Bernard’s request, he wished for no memorial, no visitation and no service.
