Mary Mason Helmick Smith

Mary Mason Helmick Smith, formerly of Fairmont, passed away in Tampa, Fla., on Monday (Aug. 6, 2012).

She was born in Fairmont Nov. 1, 1905, the daughter of Carroll and Edna Mason Helmick. A graduate of National Cathedral School, Washington, D.C., and Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa., she was predeceased by her husband, Sam E. Smith. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters, Carroll Smith Tyler of Vail, Colo., and Mary Mason Silver of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fairmont at a later date.
