Evelyn Ruth O’Dell, 82, of Wyatt, passed away Wednesday (Oct. 31, 2012) at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born in Peora on March 12, 1930, the daughter of the late Nonnie G. Garrett and Eva Donna Moore Garrett.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, James Earl O’Dell, in 1978, whom she married Nov. 28, 1948.
She is survived by one son, Danny R. O’Dell and wife Rebecca Sue of Wyatt; one daughter, Rebecca Jane O’Dell of Shinnston; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, LaDonna Sue O’Dell of Orwigsburg, Pa.; and one sister, Shirley Rohm of Haywood.
She was preceded in death by one son, Earl Warren O’Dell; one sister, Jean Vincent; two brothers, Ralph and Paul Garrett; and one great-grandson, Charles Hunter Duckworth.
She was a homemaker and Protestant by faith.
Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8 p.m. Friday, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Chaplain Adam Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
