John Morgan McDougal, 80, of New Bern, N.C., died Tuesday (May 15, 2007) at Two Rivers Healthcare.
John was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, New Bern, N.C. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 2514, Disabled Veterans and Blinded Veterans of America.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Linn McDougal; daughters, Judith A. MacDougall of Clewiston, Fla., Cynthia L. Bess and husband David of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Terry J. Willard and husband Butch of Sykesville, Md., Barbara J. Gallimore and husband Scott of Apex, N.C.; six grandchildren, John MacDougall, Jennifer MacDougall, Andy Willard, Danny Willard, Leah Willard Pond and Julie Willard; five great-grandchildren, Nick MacDougall, Michalyn MacDougall, Connor MacDougall, David Warren and Aida Mercer. He is also survived by two brothers, James A. McDougal and wife Darlene of Fairview, N.C.; Earl E. McDougal and wife Mareia of Hendersonville, N.C.; three sisters, Edna Mae Saunders, Helen L. Mudry and husband Ronald all of Fairmont; and Reva M. Ash and husband Jack of Marietta, Ohio.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church, New Bern, N.C.
