Mary Lee Eddy

Mary Lee Eddy, 97, of Schenectady, N.Y., died Tuesday (Nov. 21, 2006).

Born at Crossroads near Wadestown on Dec. 16, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Ida Fox Eddy.

She was raised and educated in West Virginia, graduating from Battelle District High School in Wadestown.

In Charleston, she was a member of the Ruffner Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Women’s Club of Charleston. A faithful attendee of the Church of the Nazarene in Schenectady, she was known by many friends, relatives and the church family as “Aunt Mary.” She was employed by the State of West Virginia’s Argriculture Department for 22 years until her retirement in 1975.

Mary Lee has been a resident of Schenectady, N.Y., for the past decade with her nieces and nephew, Mary Jo (Henderson) and Rex Morris. Also surviving are nieces, Pansy Lee Yost of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and Madonna Eddy-Brown of Auburn, N.H.; her nephew, Joseph Eddy of North Ridge, Calif.; and several great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her faithful pug dog, Franklin.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Marie Eddy Henderson; her brother, Glen Eddy; and her niece, Betty Lou Aspinall.

Friends may call at the West Warren Baptist Church in Wadestown from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the church at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Jack Snoderly and Pastor Richard Reese officiating. Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Church of the Nazarene, 2535 Consaul Road, Schenectady, NY 12304.

The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred is in charge of arrangements.
