Rose Marie Warash, 92, of Fairmont, passed away Wednesday (Oct. 3, 2012) at the Mapleshire Nursing Home in Morgantown.
She was born Nov. 18, 1919, in Fairmont, daughter of the late Salvatore and Sarafina (Spadafore) Talerico.
At one time Rose was employed at Owens-Illinois and later retired from the Marion County Board of Education as head cook at East Fairmont High School.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Our Lady of Lasalette Society. Rose also enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Sam Warash and wife Kathy of Fairmont and Richard Warash and wife Barbara of Morgantown; one brother, Anthony Talerico of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Kacey (Warash) Friend and husband Scott and Christopher Warash; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, John, Frank and Louis Talerico; and one sister, Mary Cavallaro.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers and staff at Mapleshire Nursing Home.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont, from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Richard Ulam, O.S.B. as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt.
