Joseph Andrew Closson, 23, of Fairmont, died Tuesday (March 12, 2013) as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born June 5, 1989, in Fairmont, the beloved son of Joe and Susan Henderson Closson.
Joseph was a 2007 graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and attended Fairmont State University. He was a member of the Boothsville United Methodist Church and also attended the Tree of Life Church in Fairmont.
Joseph was a great cook and worked at many local food establishments. He especially enjoyed working at Yann’s Hot Dogs for three years while in college. He was also fond of nostalgia and antiques and enjoyed hanging out with friends, Jake and Mya of Picker’s Paradise and friend, Mel. Joseph never met a stranger and loved to make people smile.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his special brother, Kallin; grandmother, Edna Jo (Heston) Closson of Fairmont and his grandparents, William “Bill” and Louise (Summers) Henderson of Grafton; aunts and uncles, George and Terri (Closson) Vincent, Robert and Sheree (Henderson) Wetzel, Jim and Jill (Henderson) Jenkins, Kent and Chris (Henderson) Rauscher and William and Joy (McDaniel) Henderson; first cousins, Kenny Vincent, Courtney, Kirby and Katie Wetzel, Eric and Ross Jenkins, and Noah and Mia Henderson. He is also survived by great-aunts and uncles on both sides of his family and many cousins, including his special friend, Billy Heston. He is also survived by his special dog, Happi.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph P. Closson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Stevens, Daniel Paknik, Bill Henderson, Chris Buonaiuto, Christian Cummings, Kenny Vincent, Ed Stalnaker and Jeff Miller.
Friends and family may visit the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, today from 5-9 p.m., Friday from 1-9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Dr. Rev. Michael Richards officiating.
