Cleon R. Turner, 88, of Duncansville, Pa., died Thursday (March 14, 2013) at The Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, Pa.
He was born March 23, 1924, in Bedford, Pa., a son of the late Rush and Marcia (Diehl) Turner.
He married Ruth A. Davis.
He is survived by his wife; four children, Jean Ann Kunkel of Morristown, N.J., Tina Turner of Wasilla, Alaska, Diana DiLeo of Downingtown, Pa., and Randy Turner of Covington, La.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph, of Denver, Pa.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Peg, Jim and Robert.
Mr. Turner was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, serving in the infantry, where he received a Purple Heart. He retired from Lafferty Trucking in 1987.
He was a member of Logan Valley Presbyterian Church in Bellwood, Pa., and a past member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church in Fairmont. He was an Elder in the church.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and going to sales.
Friends will be received Saturday from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service at Logan Valley Presbyterian Church, 400 S. First St., Bellwood, Pa. Pastor Charles Curley will officiate. Interment will take place at Blair Memorial Park in Bellwood, Pa.
