Ethel Vogelsberg

Ethel May Vogelsberg, 74, of Carrollton, Ga., passed away Tuesday (March 5, 2013).

Ms. Vogelsberg was born in Mannington, on Aug. 9, 1938, the daughter of the late Wesley James and Margaret Louise Hillberry.

She graduated from Farmington High School in 1956. Ethel was a mother and homemaker with an incredible ability to cook. Desserts were her specialty.

Survivors include her son, Ted Vogelsberg (Carla Strength) of Columbia, Ky.; daughter, Tammy (Lee) Griffin of Whitesburg, Ga.; brothers, Paul (Jerri) Hillberry, Bill (Carolyn) Hillberry, all of Louisville, Ky., Donnie (Mary) Hillberry, Robert (Marcia) Hillberry, Sammy (Robbin) Hillberry, Ted Hillberry, and Ronnie Hillbery, all of Rachel, Albert (Carolyn) Hillberry of Idamay, Roy (Etta) Hillberry of Farmington, Mike (Vicki) Hillberry of Shinnston; sister, Jessie (Donald) Pickerill of Louisville, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; aunt, Marie Cain, and cousin, Betty Wine of Clarksburg; aunt, Betty White of Cleveland, Ohio, and lifelong friends, Jimmy and Julia Anne McDougal of Rachel.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Samuel French; brothers, James Wesley and Charles Hillberry; sisters, Joann Zorko and Kathleen Hillberry.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Greer officiating.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
