Rebecca Bavely

Rebecca Mae Bavely, 90, formerly of Fairmont, died Tuesday (March 5, 2013) at the home of her daughter in Russellville, Ark.

She was born in Grafton, on Nov. 9, 1922, daughter of the late Emerson Wilson and Ivy Purkey Boyce.

Rebecca retired from Westinghouse Electric after 34 years as a machinist. She also served a union steward. She is a veteran and served in the United States Air Force during World War II. She formerly attended Wesley Chapel in Grafton, and while in Russellville she attended Second Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Timothy Henderson of Russellville, Ark., and one grandson, Christopher Shane Henderson. She is also survived by her siblings, Olive Bollinger, Betty (Russell) Boylen, Patricia (Edward) Moats, Robert (Diane) Boyce and JoAnn (Al) Tucker. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Nellie (Paul) Sell of Barrackville, Alice Boyce and Diane Boyce both of Grafton, and also several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Bavely; one brother, Albert Boyce; and two sisters, Ida E. Moyer and Gladys McVicker.

Friends may call at Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont, today from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Jimmy Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
