James William Cain

James William Cain, 88, of Metz, passed away on Wednesday (Nov. 14, 2012) at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born Jan. 19, 1924, at Smithfield, a son of the late Jacon Cain and Minnie Price Cain.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Wright Cain of Metz, whom he married on Sept. 14, 1946, having enjoyed 66 years of marriage. He is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dale “Joann” Kuhn of Metz and Mrs. Fred “Shirley” Farrell of Lorain, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Brian and Cindy Kuhn, Shaun and Tamara Kuhn of Littleton, Glendon Kuhn of Metz, Renita Kuhn and significant other Mike Lee, Mike Farrell, Calvin Farrell, and Jennifer and Enar Ortiz; 11 great-grandchildren; two nieces, Bernice Metz of Flat Run and Violet McDonald of Metz; and special friends, Jim and Paula Simons of Metz.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one son, James Ray Cain, and one sister, Leota Ice.

James was a Protestant by faith. He enjoyed his two dogs, Paulie and Muffin. He was a World War II United States Navy veteran. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the countryside.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, today from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home, with Pastor Bill Coon officiating.
