Deloris Jaunita (Ullom) Thompson

Deloris Jaunita (Ullom) Thompson, 78, of Fairmont, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 14, 2012) at Marion Unity Apartments, after a long battle with COPD.

She was born June 30, 1934, in Fairmont, the daughter of the late Albert Ullom and Mary Lena (Ice) Ullom.

Deloris worked at various department stores and retired as a cook from Pleasant Acres Christian Haven.

She was a lifelong member of the Norway Church of Christ. She enjoyed shopping and playing with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, William Brady Thompson.

Survivors include her husband, Orville (Gene) Thompson, to whom she was married to for 62 years.

Also surviving are three children, two daughters and a son, Terry Sutphin and husband Roger, Loretta Nestor and husband Donnie, and Eugene “Pee Wee” Thompson; nine grandchildren, Regina Tetrick, Shannon and Ryan Sutphin, Lena Shroyer and Donetta Webb, and Trinia, Frankie, Brady and Katelynn Thompson; and six great-grandchildren, Alex Tetrick, Lily Sutphin, Dalton and Dustin Shroyer, and Zachary and Tyler Webb.

The family would like to thank her caretaker Hope and the Marion County Home Health Aides.

Deloris graciously donated her body to the Human Gift Registry at WVU.

At her request, there will be no funeral, home visitation or service at this time.
