Arthur Herbert “Sonny” White II, 67, of Boothsville Community, Fairmont, passed away Sunday (Feb. 17, 2013) at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Fairmont on May 22, 1945, a son of the late Arthur H. White and Lula “Boots” (Hall) White.
Arthur was a welder by trade with more than 30 years of service. He was retired from Christy Machine Co. and he had also worked at FMC and EIMCO in his earlier years. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge. He loved to weld and work in his garage. He enjoyed making and fabricating things from metal, watching his deer, gardening and going to the mountains.
He is survived by his loving companion and partner, Sue King of Fairmont; one son, Scott White and his wife Gina of Fairmont; one daughter, Stephanie White of Ohio; and two grandchildren, Alexis and Michael White.
Also surviving are two sisters, Janet Withers and her husband Dennis of Flemington, and Bonnie Mooney and her husband Vic of Milan, Ohio; two stepsons, Kevin King and his wife Heather of Mannington, and Keith King of Bunner Ridge; one stepdaughter, Belinda Fetty and her husband Bob of Fairmont; step-grandchildren, Shelby and Jordan King, Mikayla King, and Kayla and Bobby Fetty; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 1-8 p.m. today and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Richard McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
