Eva Echoma Lowe McGary, 88, of Stonewood, departed this life on Monday (Jan. 7, 2013) at her residence.
She was born in Clarksburg, on Nov. 7, 1924, a daughter of the late Lester Lowe and Goldie Mae Spencer Lewis and stepfather, Worthy Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Harold McGary, on June 26, 1978.
Mrs. McGary is survived by six children, Donna Rose Richards and husband Boyd “Buck” of Stonewood, Sharon Moore and husband Edward of Fairmont, Gene McGary and wife Robin of Wylie, Texas, Mike McGary of Stonewood, Marlene Zippilli and husband Patrick “Zip” of Clarksburg, and Russ “Rusty” McGary of Nutter Fort. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Steve Richards, Brian Richards, Dave Roby, Jennifer Menello, Chad Moore, Michael McGary, Tara Huggins, Travis McGary, Shaun McGary, Chelsey McGary, Kris Arbogast and Aimee Goddard; and 12 great- and great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind one sister, Toni Caulder and husband Edward of Wheeling, and one brother, Mel Lewis and wife Diane of Waynesboro, Pa., along with several nieces and nephews including Betty, Luella and Rick, whom she thought of as her own.
Mrs. McGary was a graduate of Roosevelt-Wilson High School Class of 1942, and was a patient care technician at United Hospital Center with 24 years of service. She loved quilting, crocheting and puzzle books, but more importantly, she loved her family.
Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison St., Nutter Fort, from 3-8 p.m. Friday.
The funeral service will be held at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Richard Settles presiding.
Interment will follow in the Stonewall Park Cemetery.
