Dorothy “Emma” Harki, 87, of Farmington, died Wednesday (Jan. 2, 2013) at Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born Oct. 24, 1925 at Brady, a daughter of the late Joseph Fitzer and Elizabeth Konya Fitzer Chunk.
Emma was retired from Drulane Industries and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Farmington where she served on the Women’s Altar and Rosary Society. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family and serving the Lord through her church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David A. and Beverly Harki of Morgantown, and Gary L. and Donna J. Harki of Idamay; three grandchildren, Adam, Ben and Emily Harki; a sister-in-law, Helen Vargo of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Andrew Harki, who died Dec. 2, 2007; and two sisters, Barbara Jean Fulaytar and Ethel Rakocky.
Friends may call at Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Father Douglas B. Sutton officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Fairmont.
