William “Bill” Kime

William “Bill” Kime, 88, of Fairmont, passed away Wednesday (July 25, 2012) at the Pierpont Center, Fairmont Campus.

He was born Sept. 24, 1923, in Renova, Pa., son of the late Charles Leonard and Leona (Shaffer) Kime.

Bill was the owner of Kime Floral in Fairmont. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge, and was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church and American Legion Post 17 in Fairmont. Bill had a special interest in trains and enjoyed his cat named Tiger.

He is survived by his wife, Alice M. (Lovett) Kime; a son, Bill Kime and wife Kim of Bunner Ridge; a brother, Bert Kime of Virginia; a sister, Charlotte Edler and husband Ervin of North Bend, Pa.; and grandchildren, Matthew Kime of Fairmont and Justin Jacob Kime and wife Sharon of Hickory, N.C.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters-in-law, Ralph and Vi Kime and Muriel Kime.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont, from 2-8 p.m. today. A private graveside service will be held on Friday at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton with the Rev. Siobhan Patterson officiating.
