Dorothy Wright Batiste Freitheim, 86, of Fairmont, died Sunday (March 3, 2013) at the Pierpont Center in Fairmont.

She was born Oct. 20, 1926 in McClellandtown, Pa., a daughter of the late Donald E. and Ethel Evelyn Golden Wright.

Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Mike Batiste; as well as her second husband, Elmer Freitheim.

She was employed as a secretary for the Champion Block Co. of Monongah and also at Hauge’s Florist. She enjoyed the flowers in the outdoors, the autumn season, family gatherings, her dogs and the works of Thomas Kinkade. She was also a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church in Fairmont.

Survivors include a son, Bob Batiste and wife Michele of Morgantown; a daughter, Michelle Batiste of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson and husband Chris, Michael Batiste, and Stacie Foust and husband Patrick; and two step-grandchildren, Claire and Ben Weiner.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Dorothy was preceded in death by three brothers, Vernon Wright, Robert Wright and Donald Lynn Wright.

Following a private family visitation, funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Wesley Dobbs officiating. Interment will be in Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
