Chester Vozniak

Chester Vozniak, 82, of Monongah, passed away Friday (July 13, 2012) at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 22, 1929 in Idamay, son of the late John Vozniak Sr. and the late Nellie (Vesick) Vozniak.

Chester was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany and later in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Monongah High School and Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. He was employed by the IBEW No. 596 Clarksburg Union as a Master Electrician. Chester was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah, and an avid fisherman.

 He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Paknik) Vozniak; three daughters, Rhonda Vozniak of Charlotte, N.C., Susan Boland of Philadelphia, Pa., and Tracy Vozniak of Monongah; two brothers, Mitch Vozniak and wife Barbara, and John Vozniak, all of Monongah; grandchildren, Christopher Michael Beckett of Beckley, Thomas William Boland of Philadelphia, Pa., and Benjamin Vozniak Gellman of Charlotte, N.C. He  also is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Vozniak.

 Family and friends may call at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home with Fr. Steve Joseph officiating. Cremation was chosen as his final disposition. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.domicofh.com.
