Surviving are her daughters and their husbands, Patricia “Patty” and Greg Riley of Fairmont, Lorie and Joe Mutchler of Clarksburg and (close as a daughter) Jackie (Mossburg) and Sam Chambers of Fairmont. She has four grandchildren, Heather Leigh (Riley) and TSgt. Jonathan Kidd of Clovis, N.M., Capt. Gregory Jr. “Tuck” and Ellen Riley of Marysville, Calif., Jennifer Lynn Offutt and fiancé Alex Mauppin of Lubbock, Texas, Jeffrey David Offutt of Fairmont and (almost like a granddaughter) Julie Renee Chambers of Fort Worth, Texas. She has four great-grandchildren: Nathan Layne and Jonah Alan Kidd, Faith Marie Offutt and Gregory “Tres” Riley III.
Two sisters and a brother also survive, Lois C. LeMasters of Fairmont, Audrey L. Brooks of Morgantown and Arley E. Nicholson of Dundee, Mich.
Three brothers preceded her in death, James Orville, Hobert Kenneth and Cyril “Pete” Nicholson. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Marie, Phyllis and Jane Nicholson, and several nieces and nephews living all over the U.S.
Mrs. Green graduated from Doddridge County High School and worked several jobs in her lifetime including nurse aid at Monongalia General Hospital in the early 1950s, and sales person for Hartley’s, Jones and Stone & Thomas department stores.
Mrs. Green has donated her body to the Human Gift Registry of West Virginia University.
The family wants to thank the Emergency Department and ICU personnel and physicians at Fairmont General Hospital for the loving and thoughtful care they gave Mrs. Green, and also to Pastor Valerie Gittings for being there to support the family.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Green’s honor to the First Baptist Church, 901 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont, WV 26554.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 901 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont, at 2 p.m. today, with Pastor Valerie Gittings officiating. The Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, is assisting Mrs. Green’s family.
