Lucille Anita Parrish

Lucille Anita Parrish, 90, of Fairview, passed away Saturday (July 7, 2012) at Fairmont General Hospital.

She was born Nov. 19, 1921 in Sutton, daughter of the late Francis and Maud Della (Smith) Carpenter.

Lucille was a housewife and was formerly employed by Fashion Bug and Embees as a sales clerk.

She was Methodist by faith and attended St. John’s Methodist Church in Bassnettville. Lucille was active in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts organizations, and loved singing, playing guitar and bowling.

 She is survived by six children, Loretta Tennant and husband Clifton of Fairview, Wanda Monell and husband John of Louisville, Ky., Jo Ann Dodd of Fairview, Donna Hlusko of Fairview, Dave Parrish and wife Beth Ann of Pinedale, Wyo., and Greg Parrish of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Richard Carpenter and wife Rosalea of California; 15 grandchildren, Denise Tennant Lowe, Tammy Tennant Menas, Diana Tennant McDade, Clifton Tennant Jr., Brian Monell, Julie Monell Norris, Keith Dodd II, Hobert Dodd, Crystal Hlusko Rollins, James Hlusko, Shalon Mason, Celia Parrish Rossi and Wesley Parrish; 18 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

 In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her former husband and father of her children, Wayne “Jiggs” Parrish; four brothers, Clay, Carmel “Shorty,” Ray and Clyde Carpenter; and seven sisters, Irene Eddy, Pauline Carpenter, Waveline Davis, Leona “Ruth” Carpenter, Margie Pisz, Nellie May Carpenter and Millie Carpenter.

 Lucille will remain in our hearts forever. Her family would like to thank her caregivers and all the staff at Pierpont Genesis Nursing Home.

 The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, Curry Chapel in Fairview, from 1-8 p.m. Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
