Dorothy Yvonne (Butler) Roberts “Babe,” 87, of Fairmont, was called home Thursday morning (July 5, 2012) at her residence to be with her beloved sisters whom she took such good care of while she lived.
She was born in Cacapon on Jan. 24, 1925, daughter of the late Frank C. and Ethel Cypolt Butler.
Dottie was loved by all she came in contact with. She had no natural children of her own, but God gave her in later life four grown children whom she couldn’t have loved anymore if she had given them life herself. Her loving heart was witnessed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her adopted-with-love children, Jan Cathell Marple, Bill Cathell, Sharon Cathell and Mary Rogers; and her special “child,” her poodle Jo Jo. She is also survived by her special nephew whom she loved as a brother, Jim Sindledecker; several other nieces and nephews; and special friends, Lola and Jack Remson.
In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, Dorothy will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at the Rivesville Independence Baptist Church at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont.
