Susan Lynn Hlebinsky, 52, of Bristol, Va., and formerly of Fairmont, passed away Sunday (Feb. 17, 2013) at her home following a long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Uniontown, Pa., on June 27, 1960, a daughter of Marilyn (Wiggins) Hlebinsky of Fairmont and the late Thomas Hlebinsky.
Susan was a dedicated teacher for the Marion County Board of Education. She taught kindergarten at East Dale Elementary School for many years. She lastly worked as an educational consultant for the state of West Virginia. She was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and Fairmont State University in 1982. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Fairmont.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her companion, caregiver and true love, J.E. Talkington III of Bristol, Va. She was the loving mother of her only child, Joseph Thomas Henson of St. Albans.
Also surviving are one brother, Thomas Edward Hlebinsky and his wife Cathy of Virginia Beach, Va.; two nephews, Matt Hlebinsky and John Hlebinsky; and a special friend, Patty Perrella-Nemec of Glen Carbon, Ill.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Zion Cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday with Father John Kevern officiating. Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, has been entrusted with arrangements.
