Earl Eddy

Earl Spencer Morris Eddy, 78, of Pentress, died Monday (Nov. 5, 2012) in Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born July 26, 1934 at Morgantown, a son of the late Ralph Eddy and Mary E. Davis Eddy.

Mr. Eddy was a retired coal miner. He retired from Consolidation Coal Co. Blacksville No. 2 mine where he worked as a mechanic. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America District No. 31 in Fairmont.

Surviving are his wife, C. Sue Willard Eddy; three sons, Billy, Junior and Jonathan Eddy and his wife Brandy; three daughters, Earlene, Crystal and Wendy; one brother, Kyle Eddy; four sisters, Gracie Drake, Helen Dement, Odra Mitchell and Karen Mitchell; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Dale, Jesse and Glenn.

The family would like to say thanks to Dr. Richard Gias, Dr. Morgan Lyons and Dr. Andrzel Jaworski for their care and compassion shown to Earl and his family.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville with the Rev. Freddie Eddy II officiating.
