Delphia Evelyn Grubb

FAIRMONT — Delphia Evelyn Grubb, 86, of Reedsville and formerly of Bellview, passed from this life Sunday (March 14, 2010) in the home of her daughter, under Hospice Care.

She was born in Bellview on Nov. 3, 1923, a daughter of the late Carlton and Grace Snow Arnett Stutler.

She was a homemaker and was Methodist by faith. She was a Gold Star Mother. She was a member of the Montana Mines Improvement Association for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Amicitia Club “Latin for Friendship” since high school.

She enjoyed reading her Bible, doing crochet and embroidery work, word puzzles, both flower and vegetable gardening and walking.

Mrs. Grubb is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Ann Fortney and her husband Royce Alan of Dublin, Ohio, and Barbara Jean Padovini of Reedsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy Lee and Debra Grubb of Fairmont; one sister, Mavis E. Martin of Fairmont; five grandchildren, Cynthia Rae Rush of Reedsville, Carl Ray Fortney of Morgantown, Tina Grace Fortney Coldiron of Cols, Ohio, and Derek and Nicholas Grubb of Fairmont; five great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Leigh Finlay/Fortivey, Kayla Jordon Coldiron, Joycelynn Nicole Fortivey, Brandon Alexander Coldiron and Skyler Dawn Coldiron, all of Ohio; and two nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Orville Grubb in 1980; an infant son, Carlton Grubb, PFC Gary Howard Grubb (in Vietnam); a son-in-law, Vincent Mack Padovini; and her brother-in-law, Gifford Jennings Martin.

Friends may call at Frey Home for Funerals (Addition Chapel – C), 320 Madison St., Fairmont, from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Peggy Petrich officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Delphia’s family has requested that memorial contributions be made in her name to: Hospice Care, P.O. Box 260, Arthurdale, WV 26520.
