FAIRMONT —
Wesley Alan Shackelford, 30, of Mount Lookout, died in a motorcycle accident in Fayette County on Saturday (June 23, 2012).
He was born at Fairmont on June 4, 1982 and was a graduate of Nicholas County High School and Fairmont State University. He was employed by Filter Service International.
Wesley was fun-loving, adventurous, and a warm and caring person. His great passion for the outdoors was reflected in his activities: four-wheeling, mountain biking, snowboarding, whitewater rafting guide and riding his Harley. In his youth, he faithfully attended and participated in the youth activities at Gilgal United Methodist Church and had once again begun attending church. He was adamant that he be an organ donor.
Wesley was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Hayslett.
He is survived by the love of his life, Holly Rose, who will soon give birth to their daughter, Madalynn Grace; his mother, Pamela Russell (Kenith) of Mount Lookout; father, Gregory Shackelford (Anita) of Barrackville; grandmother, Virginia Hayslett of Mount Lookout; sister, Amanda Moore (Patrick) of Mannington; brother, Jeremy of Barrackville; two nephews, Cayden Rose and Patrick Moore Jr.; niece, Jailynn Shackelford; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Chapel, Summersville. Graveside services, conducted by the Rev. Rick Swearengin, will be held for family and close friends at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wesley’s beloved “Guy Place,” Burr Road, Mount Lookout.
