Jeanne S. Bucklew, 89, of Fairmont, died Monday (Dec. 10, 2012) at her residence.
She was born Jan. 26, 1923 in Thomas, a daughter of the late Delpha Cleveland Stemple and Iona Clarice White Stemple.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mason Bucklew.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Libby Bucklew of Morgantown; a daughter, Judy Stuart of Bonita Springs, Fla.; four brothers and their spouses, Jim and Jeanne Stemple, Joe and Loretta Stemple, Dave and Marion Stemple, and Tom and Margaret Stemple; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Gerard DuBois; two grandchildren, Jay Bucklew IV and Beth Ann Bucklew, both of Morgantown; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Stemple, Bob Stemple and Richard Stemple; four sisters, Roberta Johnston, Mary Frances Westervelt, Ruth Stemple and Betty Walters; and a son-in-law, John D. Stuart.
Mrs. Bucklew was a former accounting clerk for Monongahela Power Co. She was Methodist by faith, a former member of the Fairmont Garden Club, the Morgantown Service League and an avid bridge player. Jeanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation in Mrs. Bucklew’s memory to a charity of their choice.
The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, from 7-9 p.m. Friday. The memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Saturday with Reverend Dr. Kathy Spitzer officiating. The committal service will follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown.
