Helen J. Holt, 87, formerly of Bellview Community in Fairmont, died Thursday (Dec. 6, 2012) at Fazio Elder Care in Monongah.
Helen was born Nov. 29, 1925, daughter of the late Vendel Janicak and Mary Amelia Samel Janicak.
Helen was a member of St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church in Fairmont, and a former member of Bellview Senior Citizens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Holt; a son, George Thomas Holt; a brother, Daniel Janicak; and two sisters, Mary Lou Ross and Ann Wacowski.
Survivors include three children, Fred Holt and wife Debra of Fairmont, Cheryl Holt Goodrich and husband William of Wheeling, and Judy Holt Slenski and husband Roger of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Genevieve Lake of Clarksburg; a sister-in-law Gertrude Hanningan of Nutter Fort; grandchildren, Gwen Ables and husband Monta, Cindy Riley and husband Ben, Jessica Whaley and husband Patrick, Jonathan Holt and wife Nicki, and Valerie Slenski; and four great grandchildren, Evangeline Whaley, Abrienne Whaley, Colton Whaley and Kaden Whaley.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Cora Fazio and her staff for their vigilance and compassionate care.
Family and friends may call at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont, from 3-8 p.m. today and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. The service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Father Robert Perriello officiating.
