Alice Loraine Livingston, 87, of Owens Cross Roads, Ala., and formerly of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday (Dec. 4, 2012) in New Hope, Ala.
She was born in Tioga on July 7, 1925, a daughter of the late Bernard and Nellie Satterfield.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence “Red” Austin Livingston, in 1978.
Alice was a devoted and loving homemaker and mother. While in Fairmont, she loved attending Hebron Baptist Church. She enjoyed tending to flowers and spending time with her loving family.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Turner of Owens Cross Roads, Ala.; one granddaughter, Malynda Livingston Franks; and two great-grandchildren, Wesley Cole Franks and Lucas A. Jones.
Also surviving are two brothers, Lawrence Bradley Satterfield of Raleigh, N.C., and Hiram Satterfield of Ocala, Fla.; two sisters, Maxine Livingston of Shinnston and Jean Offutt of Biloxi, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Lawrence “Butch” David Livingston and his wife Sharon, and Kevin Wesley Livingston.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Friday with Pastor David Knotts officiating. Interment will follow at Shinnston Masonic Cemetery in Shinnston.
