Teresa Darlene Stevens, 62, of Fairmont, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 28, 2012) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a long, courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Barrackville on May 24, 1950, a daughter of Vonda (Tuttle) Stevens of Fairmont and the late Evangelist Earl P. Stevens.
Darlene worked as a teacher and instructor at West Virginia Junior College in Morgantown. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, O.I.C. Board of Directors for several years, Winfield Homemakers Association and the West Augusta (Mannington) Historical Society.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, Earl P. “Steve” Stevens II and his wife Karen of Hundred and David Stevens and his wife Kathy of Grove Port, Ohio, several loving nieces and nephews, and a special great-niece, Malina Rush.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Stanley.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Her body will lie in state on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, 2013 Pleasant Valley Road, Pleasant Valley.
The funeral service will be held in the church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Evangelist Steve Stevens, Evangelist David Stevens and Evangelist Jonathan Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
