Virginia Lee “Kitty” Polen

Virginia Lee “Kitty” Polen, 84, of Fairmont, died Friday afternoon (Jan. 4, 2013) at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.

She was born in Diana, on Dec. 8, 1928, daughter of the late George Thomas and Ida Blanche Carpenter Cutlip.

She was a member of the Marion County Senior Center.

Virginia is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Crystal Anderson of Colfax. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Angela May, Miranda Nichols, Eric Wolfe, Mike McKinzie Jr., Daniel McKinzie, Donald James Harris, TJ Anderson and Natasha Anderson; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a very special niece, Linda Bonfantino, and a friend, Joe Weeks.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by eight children, Martha Gay, Ancil “Buck,” Kenneth Ray, Eddie, Cathy Jo, Alma Lee Anderson, Tammy Harris and Vicky Wolfe. She is also preceded in death by 11 siblings, Betty Jo McSwain, Ellen Ann Riffle, Martha Jane Bennett, Norma Frances Butyok, Melba Irene Fox, Boyd Cutlip, Aaron Cutlip, Jimmy Cutlip, David “Bud” Cutlip, Cornelius “Nick” Cutlip and Jack Cutlip.

Friends may call at Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont, today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 1-2 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Jim Zinn officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
