Arline Margaret Quirk, 75, of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday (Dec. 25, 2012) at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born in Scranton, Pa., on Feb. 12, 1937, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Riley) O’Brien.
Arline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was Roman Catholic by faith. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and getting out to see her grandchildren’s events.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Daniel Quirk of Fairmont; two sons, Daniel Quirk and his wife Penny of Bridgeport, and Brian Quirk and his wife Kimberly of Fairmont; two daughters, Dawn Broadwater and her husband Larry of Fairmont, and Tracy Rule and her husband Greg of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren, Brittany Lavenski, Tyler Rule, Kelsey Rule, Hunter Rule, Hunter Quirk, Daniel Joseph Quirk, Cameron Quirk, Corey Quirk, Seth Quirk and Heath Quirk; and three great-grandchildren, Zepplin, Kendra and Kaiden.
Also surviving are two brothers, Jack O’Brien and his wife Chick of Florida, and Dennis O’Brien and his wife Pat of New Jersey, as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon McNulty and Nancy Dooley.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 1-8 p.m. Friday and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Father Robert A. Perriello officiating.
Per Arline’s wishes, her body will be cremated following the funeral service.
