Joseph Lloyd

Joseph Fred Lloyd, 67, of Fairmont, passed away Monday (Dec. 24, 2012) at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born April 8, 1945, a son of Jean Lloyd of Fairmont and the late Sy Lloyd.

Mr. Lloyd graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1963 and immediately went into the U.S. Army on the six-month program and served five years in the Army Reserves upon returning home. He graduated from Fairmont State University with a degree in education and later earned a master’s in educational leadership from West Virginia University.

He was employed by the Monongalia Board of Education as a teacher and principal at various schools. He then worked for a fundraising company from Atlanta and later started his own fundraising company called Creative Projects, which served many schools in the region. Most recently he was enrolled at Fairmont State University in the MBA program.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, John Edward Lloyd and his wife Jennifer, as well as a grandson, Maxwell Lloyd, all of Franklinville, N.J.; a daughter, Stephanie Jo Lloyd and her fiance James David “JD” Stout; and three sisters, Kathy Toothman and her husband John of Fairmont, Amy White and her husband Jim of Fairmont, and Margie Darrah and her husband Mike of Grafton.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Carolyn Waddell Lloyd.

He was a very loving son and father and will be dearly missed by his family.

Funeral services only will be held at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with Pastor James Saunders officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown.
