John Addison Santee, 86, of Fairview, passed away Sunday (July 8, 2012) in his home. “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose unto heaven.”
John was born March 13, 1926 in Fairview, son of the late Robert and Beatrice (Mitchell) Santee.
John was a loving husband for 66 years, father and grandfather. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II on the German front. He was retired from Eastern Associated Coal Co. and a member of the Church of Christ on Washington Street in Fairview.
He is survived by his wife, Iolene (Wilson) Santee of Fairview; a son, Robert Gay Santee of Murrell’s Inlet, S.C.; a daughter, Nola Marlene Williams of Pentress; grandchildren, Robert Gay Santee Jr., Jonathan O’Neil Santee and wife Abby, Toby John Williams and wife Heather, Jarrod Tyler Williams, Diana Beth Thomas and husband Curt, and Michelle Dawn Johnson and husband Eric; great-grandchildren, Olivia Santee, Derrick and Dakota Santee, Jackie and Josie Thomas, and Ruby and Lorna Johnson; a sister-in-law, Barbara Santee Lewis; a brother-in-law, David Haught; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Allen; his father and mother-in-law, Wilbur and Margaret Wilson; brothers, Tony, Roger, Paul, Bob and Buddy; sisters, Anna Hibbs, Mildred Kuhn, Nola Haught, Lucy Wright, Mary Sturm and Jeanie Haught; a son-in-law, Jack Williams; and sister-in-law, Ruthalene Cook.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, Curry Chapel in Fairview, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Evangelist Peter Ray Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
