Terrence Russell Ricer, 66, a resident of Severn, Md., for 28 years, passed away Friday (July 6, 2012) at Stella Maris Hospice in Maryland.
He was born in Fairmont on July 16, 1945 to the late Russell Ray and Mary Frances Ricer.
He retired in 1990 from active duty in the Air Force with the rank of captain after 24 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW in Severn and various Corvette clubs including: Corvette Annapolis, Mason-Dixon NCRS and CV3R; they were very active in fundraising and volunteering their time to drive in parades. He enjoyed driving his Corvette, visiting the National Corvette Museum, cruises, traveling and photography.
He was a paperboy in Idamay during his high school years and attended West Virginia University from 1963 to 1966 when he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served in Vietnam and was commissioned by the Air Force in 1980. He also graduated from California State University in 1979 with a BS in business systems data.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Beverly Joy; a son, Terry Lee Ricer and wife Aidi Carmen, and two grandchildren, Russell Ray Ricer II and Marina Christine Ricer, all of Oklahoma; sister, Melanie Ricer Fisher and husband Roger of West Virginia; and two stepchildren, Robert Berardino and Amy Berardino, both of Maryland.
Friends may call at Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington from 4-7 p.m. Thursday. A graveside service will be held Friday at Shinnston Masonic Cemetery with Pastor Keith Lewis officiating. Full military burial honors will be rendered.
