Philip Hickman

Philip Patrick Hickman, 46, of Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly Saturday (Nov. 10, 2012) at his residence on Corbin Branch Road.

Born March 14, 1966 in Clarksburg, he was a son of Paul E. “Perk” Hickman and Patricia “Patti” Ashcraft Hickman, who survive on Corbin Branch Road.

Also surviving are his sister, Sharon Sue Hickman Helton of Vandalia, Ohio, and her son, “AJ” Helton; his brother, Paul E. Hickman II and wife Lesli of Clarksburg, and their two children, Whitney Hickman and Logan Paul Hickman and wife Megan, all of Fairmont; and his maternal grandmother, Alice Walker Ashcraft Hall of Bridgeport.

Phil was preceded by his maternal grandfather, Lester B. Ashcraft; and his paternal grandparents, John A. Hickman and Bina Bennett Hickman.

Phil was owner-operator of Gym One Gymnastics in Clarksburg for several years and taught, coached and choreographed numerous cheerleading squads and competition routines.

He was a graduate of Emmanuel Christian School and attended Grace Baptist Church, Oral Lake Road, Bridgeport, where a memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Jeff Vaughan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in his honor be sent to Fairmont Credit Union, PO Box 2139, Fairmont, WV 26555-2139. Make checks payable to Gym One All-Stars.

Phil will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His vibrant personality and legacy will live on in our hearts.

To honor his wishes, he was cremated.
