Charles “Turk” Reed

Charles “Turk” Reed, 59, of Fisher, passed away Tuesday (Oct. 9, 2012) at his residence.

Born May 12, 1953, in Fairmont, he was the son of Mary E. (Ice) Reed of Fairmont and the late James H. Reed.

Turk had retired from Consol Energy after 28 years and was a member of UMWA Local 9909 of Fairmont. He was a member of the Barrackville Church of Christ.

Surviving is his wife, Cecelia “Tee” Reed; three sons, Chuck Reed of Moorefield, Robert A. Reed and Timothy A. Reed of Fairmont; a step-daughter, Carla Armistead of Appomattox, Va.; a brother, Michael Reed of McHenry, Md.; a sister, Beth A. Reed Frederick of Rivesville; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 6 p.m. today at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., Moorefield. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Graveside committal services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Monumental Cemetery, Barrackville. The family will receive friends from noon until services at 1 p.m. at the Monumental United Methodist Church.
