Emma Newlon

Emma Murle Freeman Newlon, 84, of Fairmont, passed away Monday (Jan. 28, 2013) at John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center.

She was born Nov. 17, 1928, a daughter of the late Laura Wheeler Freeman and Glenn Freeman.

She was married 34 years to the late Kenneth E. Newlon.

She worked several years at C&P Telephone Co. in the late 1940s and 1950s.

She enjoyed watching her favorite shows, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by one brother, William J. Freeman.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol A. Toothman; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith E. and Julie Newlon; four grandchildren, Jack White and wife Caroline, Lelia Jimmie and husband Matt, Peggy Hensley, and Kenneth Newlon and wife Christina; and nine great-grandchildren, Kristin, Jacklyn, Briana, Colby, Caiden, Kelsey, Caleb, Donovan and Olivia.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to the nurses and staff of John Manchin Senior Health Care Center and the nurses of Fairmont General Hospital 3B.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral services. Emma donated her body to the gift registry at WVU Hospitals.
