Rusty Farmer

Rusty Arthur Farmer, 57, of Fairmont, passed away Monday (Jan. 28, 2013) at his residence.

He was born June 7, 1955 in Fairmont, a son of the late Arthur Paul Farmer and Myrel G. Collins Farmer.

Rusty was retired from Consol Loveridge mine as a heavy equipment operator with 31 years of service. He had worked at Miracle Run and most recently above ground at the Sugar Run Portal. He attended Grace Lutheran Church of Fairmont and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Local District No. 31. Rusty was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and camping with his sons-in-law at his camp in Smoke Hole. His favorite pastime was hanging out with his grandsons, his real pride and joy.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Susan Gonzalez Farmer; two daughters, Ginnina Louise Eakle and her husband Josh of Richmond, Va., and Maria Lynn Bartholow and her husband Jeremy of Fairmont; two grandsons, Connor and Chase Eakle, both at home; a sister-in-law, Ann Gonzalez Nuzum of Fairmont; and an aunt, Betty Swiger of Boothsville Community.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Marie Whipkey.

The family has entrusted Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., with service arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue from noon to 1 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Matt Holbert officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown.
