Donald R. Thomas, 86, of New Martinsville, died Thursday (Dec. 27, 2012) at his home surrounded by his family.
Donald was born Sept. 23, 1926, in Mannington, son of the late Lott Shriver and Edna Virginia Garrison Thomas.
He was a retired maintenance foreman of Bayer Corp., veteran of the U.S. Navy and trustee and member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jo Thomas (2009); son, Michael Allen Thomas; and sister, Lillian Miller.
Surviving are his son, Donald Kevin Thomas of St. Mary’s; two daughters, Denna Lane Thomas of Ashland, Ky. and Jennifer Kay (Rob) Rothlisberger of New Martinsville; four grandchildren, Kayleigh (Zach) Williams, Morgan (Seth) Worstell, Allison Rothlisberger and Adam Rothlisberger; and two sisters, Virginia Gorsuch of Youngstown, Ohio, and Kathleen Odell Shearer of Mannington.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes in Paden City where service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Pam Shuman officiating.
Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens, New Martinsville.
