Mary Virginia Davidson, 96, of Monongah, passed away at 9:44 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 29, 2012) at the Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born in Fairmont, May 27, 1916, a daughter of the late Oliver P. and Marrietta Radford Davidson.
On June 6, 1936, she married Jennings B. Davidson, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1975.
Surviving are one son, Richard Davidson and his wife Vickie, Monongah; two daughters, Patricia Arnold and her husband Tom, Enterprise, and Terry Dalton and her husband Roger, Fairmont; six grandchildren, Leah Moyer and her husband Doug, Robin Sapp and her husband Budd, Debra Simmons, Shauna Manzo and her husband David, Chad Davidson and his wife Kelly, and Cortney Boyer and her husband Adam; 12 great-grandchildren, Shannon Moyer, Danielle Wilson and her husband Jamie, Brigitte Sapp, Brooklyn Sapp, Mia Manzo, Angelo Manzo, Josh Simmons and his wife Jayne, Joe Simmons, Haley Davidson, Chloe Davidson, Blake Boyers and Maddox Boyers; one great-grandchild, Mason Wilson. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Oliver and John Davidson.
Virginia was a 1933 graduate of West Fairmont High School and attended Fairmont State College. She was a former employee of the St. Barbara’s Nursing Home in Monongah, a former member of the Homemakers Club in Monongah, the Monongah Senior Citizens, where she had served as president, and the Volunteer Association of Fairmont General Hospital.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.perinefunerals.com. The Perine Funeral Home is honored to serve the Davidson family.
