James Lee “Albert” Jenkins, 39, of Fairmont, passed from this life Thursday (Oct. 11, 2012) in his home under Hospice care after a devastating battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born in Morgantown on Dec. 2, 1972, a son of Mary Ann Simmons Johnson of Fairmont and the late John David Johnson.
Albert was a Christian by faith. He was a 1993 graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. He worked as an insulation installer for the O.C. Cluss Co.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially the Dale Earnhardts. He also enjoyed camping and spending quality time with his family and circle of friends.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife of almost 10 years, Laila Jack Jenkins; his daughter, Jocelyn Jade Jenkins; four brothers, Joseph Jenkins and his companion Crystal Wilson of Morgantown, Jason Johnson (Tammy) of Oblong, Ill., Gregory Johnson and his fiancée Amanda Walker of Barrackville, and Sean Johnson (Jackie) of Fairmont; his sister and brother-in-law, Kelly Sherbaugh (Joseph) of Jeannette, Pa.; and also several nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank Road To Recovery, The Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, Amedysiss Hospice (especially Melinda and Lori).
Laila has requested that any memorial contributions be made to the James Lee Jenkins Cancer Fund at any Fairmont Federal Credit Union.
In keeping with James’ wishes, his body has been cremated. Friends may call at the Frey Home For Funerals (Addition Chapel A), 320 Madison St., Fairmont, Sunday from 1-3 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 3 p.m. with Pastor Frank Bush officiating. “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles.” (Isaiah 40:31).
