Bryan Keith Willis

Bryan Keith Willis, 38, of Worthington, went home to be with the Lord at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 19, 2012) at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born Nov. 12, 1973, in Fairmont, a son of Larry Allen and Nancy Jane Cowart Willis.

Bryan had worked as an EMT for Harrison and Marion County EMS, and was an active member of the Shinnston Volunteer Fire Department. He loved race cars and muddin’ in his monster truck. He also enjoyed the outdoors, country music and life in general.

Also surviving are one brother, Allen Lee Willis and his wife Julie of Fairview; nieces and nephews, Gwendalyn, Gage and Greyson Willis; special cousin, McKenna Johnson and her parents Mark and Crystal Johnson; special friends, Jessica Lanham and Ashley Brooke Hunt; aunts, Cathy Null of Parkersburg, Alma Allen of Worthington, Carol Ensminger and her husband Leonard of Fairmont, and Joyce Peck and her husband Perry of Florida; uncles, Lee Willis and his wife Eileen of Parkersburg, and Henry Duane Cowart of Clarksburg; and several cousins.

Bryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lee Roy and Ilah Willis; maternal grandparents, Henry and Velora Cowart; and one uncle, Warren Cowart.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and the Department of Orthopedic at West Virginia University Hospitals. Ruth Davis, Dr. Brock Lindsey and the entire staff have been exceptional in their care and support. Thanks also to Amedysis Hospice and specifically RN, Mark Wotring, and aid, Theresa Kittle. They all have not only provided healing for the body but healing for our hearts as well.

Friends may call at Jewel City Church, Route 20, Haywood, from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Robert Shingleton officiating. Interment will be at the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.perinefunerals.com. The Perine Funeral Home is honored to serve the Willis family.
