FAIRMONT —
Yolanda Lepera Napple, 85, of Fairmont, died Thursday (June 21, 2012) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born Sept. 7, 1926 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Rosario Lepera and Theresa Ferella Lepera.
She was preceded in death by her husband, former Marion County Sheriff Leonard Lee “Red” Napple.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Barbara Napple of Wheeling; a brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Eloise Lepera of Fairmont; a grandson, Patrick Michael “Mike” Napple of Wheeling; three great-granddaughters, Chelsea Napple, Abbey Napple and Emily Napple, all of Wheeling; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Timothy Napple; a brother, Jimmie Lepera; and a sister, Rose Kretoski.
Mrs. Napple was a retired secretary for the Marion County Juvenile Probation Office and had also previously worked in the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and for the City of Fairmont. She was Catholic by faith, a 1944 graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and attended the West Virginia Business College and Fairmont State College. She was active in many organizations throughout her life. Above all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. In 1998, she received the Eleanor B. Roosevelt Award, which recognizes efforts of Democratic Women in West Virginia who help improve the quality of life of all citizens of the state and nation. Yolanda was past state president of the Federation of Democrat Women and in 1997 was selected West Virginia State Democrat of the Year, member of the Marion County Democrat Executive Committee, member of the B.P.O.E. No. 294 Fairmont Elks Lodge and past president from 1984-86 of the Fairmont Women’s Club.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at noon Wednesday with Father Jude Molnar officiating. The committal service will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fairmont.
