FAIRMONT —
David Lee Loughery, 52, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday (June 24, 2012) at his home.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Feb. 28, 1960, a son of the late Harry David and Lois Lee (Hixenbaugh) Loughery.
David was employed at Swanson Industries for 4 1/2 years as a machinist. He had also worked for Pepsi for 23 years as a delivery man. He was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and he enjoyed spending time with his loving family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Pamela (Davis) Loughery of Fairmont; three daughters, Elyssa Hibbs and her husband Chris of Jacksonville, Fla., Amy Gerau and her husband Chad of Fairmont, and Ashlee Loughery of Fairmont; and seven grandchildren, Nathan Gerau, Lillian “Lilly” Gerau, Nick Hibbs, Sophia Hibbs, David Loughery, John Loughery and Noah Loughery.
Also surviving are three brothers, Don Loughery and his wife Roxanne of Fairmont, Frank Loughery and his wife Shari of Fairmont, and Phillip Loughery and his wife Darlene of Lexington, Ohio; three sisters, Roxann Smith of Rivesville, Laurel Loughery and her fiance Bill Welch of Fairmont, and Kim Loughery; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl and Ann Loughery; and his maternal grandparents, Osborne and Pearl Hixenbaugh.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Stanley Merrifield officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Fairmont.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 122 S. High St., Morgantown, WV 26501.
