BOE to vote on Hays’ hiring

As new Husky head football coach

FAIRMONT — Accoriding to the agenda for Thursday’s Marion County Board of Education meeting, North Marion High School’s search for only its third head football coach is about to come to a close.

Daran Hays, one of three who reportedly applied for the position, is listed for approval on the agenda as the Huskies’ next head football coach.

Hays is a former Husky athlete who graduated in 2002 and has been a member of recently-retired head coach Gerry White’s staff for the past three seasons, including two as head coach of the freshman team.

Since White announced his retirement earlier this year Hays has been keeping the offseason workouts and conditioning program running smoothly without a head coach.
