Bears hit 18 treys, rout Brooke, 102-58

FAIRMONT — Fairmont Senior’s boys’ basketball team put on its greatest offensive display in years Tuesday against the visiting Brooke Bruins.

The Polar Bears rained in 18 3-pointers en route to a 102-58 rout of Brooke.

“It was a fun game,” Fairmont Senior head coach David Retton said. “We were sharing the ball, finding the open guy and hitting the open shots. It’s hard to defend when we move the ball like we did tonight.

“I remember scoring 97 against Ripley, something like 12 years ago, but that’s the most I remember in a while.”

The treys continued until the final horn with Van Jones nailing a triple to make the score 100-54 with just over a minute left in the game.

FSHS had nine 3-pointers in the first half and nine in the second.
