RACHEL — Kaitlyn Antolock, Kelsi Wright and Jessica Parsons each had visions of continuing their basketball careers at the collegiate level. The North Marion trio, though, never gave much thought to playing together.
However, it became a reality Monday as the three — yes, all three — signed to play for Division II Fairmont State University.
“It wasn’t really our plan,” Antolock said with a laugh. “But we don’t mind it. It was a nice surprise.”
Falcons’ head coach Steve McDonald recruited former North standout Tiffany Nicholson, a freshman guard at FSU, and most certainly saw the same team-first, unselfish qualities in the three.
“That doesn’t happen very often to have four girls go to the same college and play,” North coach Mike Parrish said. “But I told Coach McDonald a couple of years ago watching us in the summer, ‘If you recruit them all you might end up getting them all.’ I think he took my word on that.”
Added Parsons: “I think he liked our team chemistry.”
