Getting revenge

Bees sweep Byrd out of postseason

PLEASANT VALLEY — East Fairmont’s volleyball team got a little revenge on Robert C. Byrd when it counted the most.

The Flying Eagles were the only team to beat the Bees at home this season, but East got the last laugh when it swept RCB out of the sectional playoffs with three wins Monday.

“The girls played hard,” East Fairmont head coach Stacy Linger said. “That was the only team to beat us on our home court and it was nice to get a little payback for that.”

The Bees won the first game 25-19, the second 25-20 and the third and final game 25-19.

East had to rally in the first game.
