FAIRMONT —
The Fairmont Regional Cancer Center is joining the West Virginia University Hospitals family.
WVUH has applied for a Certificate of Need with the West Virginia Health Care Authority to purchase the center, which is located on the Fairmont General Hospital campus.
The practice is owned by Dr. Kirti Jain.
The $14 million purchase is with Oncology Services Inc., which owns the facility. That amount includes $11 million for the purchase and another $3 million for new equipment.
The purchase will allow WVUH to provide radiation therapy services in Marion County that use the standards of the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center.
