BRIDGEPORT — It’s not every day you get the chance to ride in a helicopter, and certainly not for an affordable price.
Leading Edge LLC, a local flight school and charter program, is launching its first ever “Choppers for Charity” program to benefit local charities, including the United Way of Marion County. Flights will go out of the North Central West Virginia Airport in Bridgeport this weekend and later next week.
For an extraordinarily low cost of $10, passengers get the chance to fly over Bridgeport, something that many people dream of doing. Leading Edge doubles these donations, and all proceeds go to either the United Way of Harrison or Marion County, the Mountaineer Food Bank or Northern Appalachian Teen Challenge.
Tiffany Samuels, director of the United Way of Marion County, said that she is thrilled to be involved in this project.
“Our phones have been ringing off the hook,” she said.
